04/29/2006 4:12 PM Alert

Hi.

5 days ago I have submitted my site and its pages to Google.

When searching for fixpc, google shows the site but with the buildportal link:
www.buildportal.com/fixpc.
In addition, when clicking on this link, I get to the
www.dotnetnuke-portal.com page (and not the fixpc).

1. I need Google to show the link to www.fixpc.co.il - how do I do it?
2. Why isn't the buildportal link working?

Thanks, and have a great week,
Merav.

Google probably indexed your site when it was under the old alias. It might take some time for google to re-index your site under the new domain name.
We can only give 1 alias for each free portal - when adding fixpc.co.il the old alias was deleted.
Premium sites can have more then one alias.

Thanks for the answer.

1. So I just want to make sure - when I submit my site, it submits the www.fixpc.co.il alias and not anything else. Same goes for any other communication? The other side will always see my domain and not the buildportal domain?

2. You need to change your explanation regarding the "use your own domain" issue. today, at the bottom, it says:

Write to us threw the Portal Alias Forum - send a post with your portal name and address and the new domain name.  We will make the configuration change within 24 hours.  Your original portal address (i.e. www.DotNetNuke-Portal.com/portal) will continue to work once we add your new domain name.

I think it's fair to let a free site have one alias, but you shouldn't promise otherwise.

Thanks,
Merav.

1. When you submit your site and you are browsing it threw www.fixpc.co.il it would submit this URL. Google can keep addresing your old site and you have to check with google about this issue.
2. You are right - the explanations were changed.

One more thing:

Can you please change the link to my site from fixpc.co.il to www.fixpc.co.il (in the portals list and in the 'most visited' list).

Thanks!

And also... in addition to my previous post, I just noticed that the logo is also directing to fixpc.co.il instead of www.fixpc.co.il.

How do I change that?

Thanks.
