Use Your Own Domain Name

When you sign up for a portal account, your portal is initially located at http://SiteName.BuildPortal.com where "SiteName" is the name you created when you registered. You can easily change your portal to a specific domain name like www.MyName.com. Here's how:

Step 1: Get Your Domain Name

  • Register your domain name with any registrar.

Step 2: Set Your Primary and Secondary DNS Servers

  • Primary DNS Server:  ns1.databasemart.net
  • Secondary DNS Server:  ns2.databasemart.net
Step 3: Notify DotNetNuke-Portal.com
  • Write to us through the Portal Alias Forum - send a post with your portal name and address and the new domain name.  We will make the configuration change within 24 hours.  Free portals can have only 1 domain alias at a time, so your old portal address (i.e. http://SiteName.BuildPortal.com) will not continue to work once we add your new domain name. Prmium portal owners can have more then 1 alias to their site.
